The short version: fishsancap.com has no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, no contact form, no analytics and no advertising network. We don't set a single cookie of our own and we don't know who you are. What follows is the honest detail, including the third parties your browser does talk to and what they can see.
What we collect: nothing
We do not collect, store, sell or share personal information. Specifically, this site runs:
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no Plausible, no Fathom, no Hotjar, no Meta Pixel, no Clarity. Nothing counts you.
- No cookies set by us. Our own code sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage or session storage.
- No forms, accounts or mailing list. There is nowhere on this site to submit your name, email or anything else.
- No advertising network. No ad tags, no retargeting, no data brokers.
Who your browser does contact
The site is built to run entirely in your browser, which is why it's fast and why we don't need a database. The trade-off is that your browser fetches live data directly from the sources below, and those requests carry your IP address and browser details to them, exactly as if you had visited their sites yourself. We never see the result.

The Sticker Mule store is an embedded frame from their site. They can set their own cookies and see that a visitor arrived from here. Their handling of that is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. If you would rather not load it, don't scroll to that section, or block third-party frames in your browser.
Affiliate links, and what they do
fishsancap.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This costs you nothing extra.
The gear links on this site carry a tracking tag. Here's what that means in practice:
- Clicking one takes you to Amazon, and Amazon places or recognises cookies in your browser so it can attribute a later purchase to this site.
- That attribution window is short. Amazon's terms measure it as a single session, which generally ends 24 hours after the click.
- Amazon tells us how many items sold and how much was earned. We are never told who you are or what you personally bought.
- Amazon and other third parties may serve content, collect information directly from you, and place or recognise cookies on your browser when you interact with them. That activity is governed by their policies. Amazon's is on their site under Privacy Notice.
- Nothing on this site is sponsored, and no brand has paid for placement. Gear is chosen on merit and local relevance. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
Every other outbound link on this site — captains, shops, restaurants, conservation groups, government agencies — is editorial and earns us nothing.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, their servers record standard request information such as IP address, timestamp, requested page and user agent, for delivery, security and abuse prevention. We don't build profiles from it and we don't combine it with anything else.
Your choices
- Cookies. Since we set none, there's nothing here to opt out of. Third-party cookies from Amazon or Sticker Mule can be blocked or cleared in your browser settings.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We have no tracking to disable, so these signals change nothing about how the site behaves.
- Affiliate attribution. If you'd rather not be attributed, search for the item on Amazon directly instead of clicking through.
- Access or deletion requests. We hold no personal data, so there is nothing to retrieve or erase. If you believe otherwise, get in touch and we'll look.
Children
This site is aimed at adults planning fishing and beach trips. It is not directed at children, and we knowingly collect no information from anyone, children included.
Accuracy, and what this site is not
Tides and weather here are estimates to help you time a trip, not navigation data. Wind and pressure move real water off the predicted chart. Fishing and shelling rules change: check current FWC regulations and the City of Sanibel before you keep anything. Nothing here is legal advice.
Changes
If what the site does changes — an analytics tool, a form, another affiliate programme — this page gets updated before that goes live, and the date below changes with it.
